About
Artist Statement
My name is Tyler Skolozynski, I am a North Carolinian artist that works in many mediums, but primarily in printmaking and painting. I am heavily inspired by the world around me, through nature, humanity, and my faith. Artists such as Monet are my influences, to create color and movement in my art. I want my work to be something that anyone can connect to and feel inspired by. I try to capture heavy topics such as environmental change, war, illness, but also show that there is still good and beauty. I use the standard paints, such as acrylic, oil and watercolor.

I enjoy blending different mediums as I move into printmaking. I love the structure that etchings and woodblocks force on me. I am constantly looking for places to break out of the structure and add in more organic movement that mimics my painting style. Through my paintings and prints, I will always bring attention to beauty and connection with my viewer. Once my work leaves my studio, it is for the viewer, so it needs to strike their hearts. My main goal is to create and mimic the good around us.
